Testimonials

Eleanor is an amazing mentor. Even in just one session, she was generous with her knowledge and eager to share her experiences in the post-production industry. As an aspiring editor, I really valued her guidance and her advice gave me newfound confidence in my next steps. What stood out was how approachable and genuinely interested she was in understanding my goals. She tailored her advice to suit my needs, which made the conversation feel both productive and personal. I can honestly say that the opportunities I’ve had since wouldn’t have come about without her support. I highly recommend Eleanor as a mentor to anyone looking to progress in this area. Thank you again, Eleanor!

As a Post Production graduate, Eleanor completely understood what I was going through with my job search after university and helped me shape my CV to be more appealing to employers. Her feedback helped me stand out amongst other applicants and got me jobs working on South Today and Strictly Come Dancing, where I’ve made some excellent contacts and gained a deeper insight into the industry.

I would 100% recommend Eleanor as a mentor for breaking into the industry. After just a couple of one-on-one sessions, she provided me with a detailed action plan tailored to improving my chances of landing a role. Eleanor is straight-talking, incredibly friendly, and fully invested in helping you succeed. It’s clear that she gives her undivided attention and goes above and beyond. Working with her has been a game-changer, and I’m so grateful for her guidance!

I took Eleanor's masterclass while feeling lost during a period of unemployment, and came away from it with a renewed sense of direction. It's incredibly well organised, offering multiple avenues for networking at various career stages, and then breaking each of those avenues down into smaller, logical steps to make the process less daunting. Perhaps most importantly, all the information provided is insightful and grounded in truth, being born out of Eleanor's own experiences in the industry and those of the many people she's worked with. I'd definitely recommend this class to anyone unsure of where best to focus their networking efforts, especially at a time when getting your name in front of the right people seems to be more important than ever.

About Me

My name is Eleanor, and I’m an experienced Assistant Editor with over six years in the industry, working across both feature films and episodic television. My credits include Afterburn starring Samuel L. Jackson, Snow White, The Buccaneers, Slow Horses with Gary Oldman and Kristin Scott Thomas, Temple, and Roadkill — with projects spanning major networks such as Disney, Apple TV+, HBO, BBC, and ITV.

I’m deeply passionate about supporting others and uplifting the role of the Assistant Editor and have recently produced The Assistant Editor’s Toolkit and Skills Checklists for the Editorial Department - groundbreaking and innovative resources that British Film Editors, ScreenSkills, and Bectu have recognised. I have reviewed applications for Screen Skills Trainee Finder and regularly speak at organisations and universities, including ScreenSkills, Bectu, Cambridge University, Solent University, and Elstree Screen Arts.

Whether you're a student googling "how to become an Editor" for the first time, a Post Production Runner looking to break into scripted, an Edit Trainee learning new skills, or a 2nd Assistant Editor looking for your next job - I have been there and I have got your back.
